For over 30 years, our technicians at Bratcher Heating and Air Conditioning have been installing and servicing boilers to our loyal customers in Urbana IL. Our experience and knowledge make us the preferred heating company for most homeowners throughout Central Illinois.
We are proud to be regarded as one of the Dave Lennox Premier Dealers which means we follow a strict set of guidelines when it comes to customer satisfaction.
We have a wide variety of boilers to choose from, and today we want to talk about the GWM-IE, a high-efficiency, gas modulating condensing water boiler.
The GWM-IE has efficiency ratings of up to 95% AFUE, saving you hundreds of dollars each year on your energy bills, compared to older, conventional boilers. To add more savings, the GWM-IE may also qualify for local incentives and rebates.
This model has earned the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2014 label, which means it is recognized as one of the most efficient products that qualify for ENERGY STAR. This guarantees the GWM-IE doesn’t only meet but exceeds federal guidelines for energy efficiency.
With fuel efficiency in mind, Lennox designed this boiler to maximize fuel savings. This is made possible by the GWM-IE’s burner that matches heating output to your home’s demand, using only the energy needed to keep warm water flowing through pipes into your radiators or baseboard heating system. This translates to lower energy costs without compromising comfort.
To ensure maximum performance, Lennox has conducted rigorous tests on every component of the GWM-IE in its own dedicated research lab. You can count on your unit to provide the highest possible levels of reliability and performance.
For your peace of mind, Lennox backs this model with a 15-year limited warranty on the heat exchanger and a 10-year warranty on covered parts.
The GWM-IE boasts a vertical heat exchanger made of premium stainless steel. To optimize condensation, the unit has especially designed helical tubes inside the exchanger shell that effectively recovers most of the usable heat from the fuel.
As combustion air produced by the burner passes through the fins of the helical tubes, heat is transferred to the water moving through the tubes. The heat capture is so effective that the combustion air condenses, achieving an efficiency rating of up to 95% AFUE.
Depending on the heating requirements of your home, the GWM-IE’s modulating burner can fire at a rate as low as 20 percent of its full capacity. This gives you an opportunity to cut back on your fuel costs. By operating at a low flame setting and making gradual output adjustments as necessary, the GWM-IE’s modulating technology optimizes energy efficiency.
Uninterrupted modulation also allows the GWM-IE to keep an accurate temperature without constant on and off cycling, resulting in low sound levels and improved overall reliability.
With its electronic ignition control, the WGM-IE burns fuel only when necessary, reducing energy consumption.
The GWM-IE has a stainless steel mesh burner that provides greater resistance to corrosion and oxidation than competitive aluminized steel burners.
It exceeds industry requirements to ensure safer operation than competitive boilers. This is the made possible by the unit’s factory-installed low water cut-off switch.
The GWM-IE has a CPVC flue condensate collector that offers greater protection against corrosion and leaking than other competitive metallic flue collectors.
